Why Taekwondo Is Good for Kids

At Avan Taekwondo, training is built on taekwondo's five tenets: Politeness, Honesty, Perseverance, Self-Control, and Indomitable Spirit. Through training, kids build strength, better balance, confidence, and respect for others – always with a kind, defensive mindset rather than aggression.

Our club promise to every member: show respect to coaches, parents and friends, be kind and helpful, and be brave but never violent.

What a Class Looks Like

We use step-sparring drills matched to each student's level: three-step sparring for beginners, two-step for students who've trained a little longer, and one-step for more advanced kids. Classes wrap up with light sparring – non-contact for beginners.

Belt Ranks & Grading

As kids train and learn more, they progress through belt colors: white, yellow, green, blue, red, and finally black. Every belt matters – the journey matters more than the color.

Where We Train
